Tattoo Removal for the Modern Soul

Tattoo Removal for the Modern SoulLasers remove tattoos by breaking up the pigment colors with a high-intensity light beam. Black tattoo pigment absorbs all laser wavelengths, making it the easiest color to treat. Other colors can only be treated by selected lasers based upon the pigment color.

Why Tattoo Removal?
You should first schedule a consultation with your doctor, who can evaluate your tattoo and advise you. The number of treatments you will need will depend on the age, size, and color(s) of your tattoo. The color of your skin, as well as how deep the tattoo pigment goes, will also affect the removal technique. Immediately following the treatment, an ice pack should be used to soothe the treated area. Application of an antibiotic cream or ointment and bandage should be used to protect area. The treated area should also be covered with sunblock to prevent damage the wound.

Are There Any Side Effects?
As with any laser procedure, the treated site is at risk for infection. There is a slight chance of scarring, hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation and residual pigmentation.
