Choose Belotero for a Radiant Glow

Like many fillers, Belotero contains hyaluronic acid (HA). This is a substance that already occurs in the body naturally, specifically in the connective tissues and skin. As one ages, some HA is lost, so Belotero injections can replenish the body’s supply and give one skin that looks more youthful.

If you are an adult with wrinkles on your face that you’d like to see diminished, you may be a good candidate for Belotero. Other fillers that contain HA include Restylane and Juvederm. However, Belotero is often thought to be a better option for treating lines that are finer or superficial, while other fillers might give an appearance that is less natural in these cases. Belotero is amazing for forehead wrinkles, frown lines, laugh/smile lines, and crow’s feet.

The specific formulation of Belotero has to be selected first, as there are three that can be used for a treatment session. Belotero Basic and Belotero Intense are both made for filling deep lines and enhancing the volume of the lips, cheeks, or other areas of the face that need it. They are injected into the skin’s deepest layers and can give the most visible changes. Belotero Soft is formulated for superficial wrinkles such as crow’s feet and is injected into the skin’s outermost layers.

Belotero is considered a lunchtime procedure because the injection process only takes about 30 minutes. The skin should be disinfected by the doctor before a very thin needle is injected into affected areas. After the procedure is finished, patients may leave the office right away.

Possible side effects are redness, swelling, itching, and tenderness where the injections are placed, but they typically go away within about a week.

No recovery time is needed, post-injection. Most patients return to their normal activities right away. If you’d like, you can put on makeup to camouflage any bruising, swelling, or redness that may occur. Belotero results can be noticed right away and typically last six months to a year.
